Open to RNs, LPNs, MDs, PTs and other professionals with an interest in wound care, the focus during this four-day course is the clinically relevant knowledge and skills required to prevent nosocomial breakdown and to effectively assess and manage chronic wounds such as pressure ulcers and leg ulcers. The participant will gain skill in all of the following areas:
The participant will also gain understanding of current regulatory, legal, and economic issues related to wound care, including current CMS payment guidelines. The content covered in this course will help to prepare you for the CWCA exam that is offered to licensed professionals with experience in wound care by the American Academy of Wound Management. In addition to the four-day course, an optional one-day workshop entitled Ostomy 101: Basics of Ostomy Care is also available.
