Emory WOCNEC offers three separate postgraduate programs that have been accredited by the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) since 1976 and are approved by the Georgia Nurses’ Association for continuing education contact hours. In addition, the center sponsors a wound management course for treatment nurses and a course examining current approaches to diabetic foot care.

Current Approaches to Diabetic Foot Care
This two-day course covers the pathology of diabetic foot ulcers, sensorimotor and vascular assessment of the lower limb, preventive foot and nail care and education, management of common problems (thickened nails, ingrown nails, corns and calluses), and principles and procedures for offloading. One day of didactic content is involved, followed by clinical experience in a residential retirement facility and an offloading skills lab. When confirmed, dates for the next session will be posted.
