Transplantation Clinical Synopsis

Transplant procedure at Emory University Hospital.

As members of the multidisciplinary Emory Transplant Center (ETC), faculty surgeons of the Division of Transplantation of the Emory Department of Surgery provide kidney, kidney-pancreas, and liver transplants for adult and pediatric patients. The ETC's heart and lung transplant programs involve faculty surgeons from the Department of Surgery's Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

The Division of Transplantation's surgeons are committed to providing patients with superior quality outcomes and developing new transplant therapies. Each of our solid organ transplant programs actively reviews specific program indicators and patient outcomes on a monthly basis, sets specific goals, and selects and prioritizes activities that are driven by data, benchmarks, and best practices.

Adult procedures are performed at Emory University Hospital, while pediatric procedures are done at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, which ranks among the top pediatric transplant centers in the U.S.
