Before coming to Emory in 2004, Dr. Roser was the director of graduate medical education at New York-Presbyterian Hospital as well as director of the division of oral and maxillofacial surgery and associate dean for hospital affairs at the School of Dental and Oral Surgery of Columbia University. In addition to his clinical, academic, and research activities, Dr. Roser has made many trips to Central and South America as a volunteer team leader for Healing the Children to provide such services as cleft lip and cleft palate repair to disadvantaged children. In 2009, he was the first oral surgeon in Atlanta to use virtual surgery planning for free flap reconstruction following ablative surgery for oral cavity cancer.

Gary F. Bouloux, DDS, MD, MDSc

Dr. Bouloux is one of the few surgeons in Georgia routinely performing temporomandibular joint surgery and the first surgeon in greater Atlanta to do one stage total TMJ replacement using a new stock joint system. In 2009, he was named director of research for the division and completed beta testing new TMJ arthroscopic technology designed to permit the performance of out-patient arthroscopic surgery.

Sam E. Farish, DMD

Dr. Farish is a co-investigator in the multi-site clinical trials that are currently being conducted throughout the VA system. He is also is one of the leading surgeons in Atlanta performing bone grafting procedures to permit the placement of dental implants

Dr. Steed, director of the division's residency program, completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Emory. He is one of the only maxillofacial surgeons in Atlanta qualified to evaluate and perform microsurgical repair following peripheral trigeminal nerve injury.
