Biography

Dr. Stephanie Drew received her DMD degree from the Farleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine, and completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Prior to joining Emory, she was a senior partner at the New York Center for Orthognathic and Maxillofacial Surgery for 23 years, served as an attending physician at Stony Brook University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and was a clinical assistant professor at Hofstra Medical School and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her clinical interests lie in the treatment of skeletal facial deformations through her internationally recognized use of orthognathic surgery and distraction osteogenesis. She also specializes in treating patients with cleft lip and palate.

Dr. Drew is known for elevating the use of virtual surgical planning in the daily practice of planning surgery for the correction of skeletal deformations of the jaws. Her current research interest is in advancing the use of rh-BMP2 for the grafting of alveolar cleft defects.

Dr. Drew is president-elect of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS), founding chair of the Elaine Stuebner Scholarship for Women through ACOMS, and was a board member of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for over seven years. She has lectured both nationally and internationally on the topics of orthoghantic surgery, distraction osteogenesis, cleft alveolar repair, and syndrome recognition in the orthognathic patient population.
