Year Joined Emory as a Faculty Member: 2011

Dr. Rajani attended medical school at the University of Michigan, did his general surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic, undertook his surgical critical care residency and trauma fellowship at Emory, and completed his vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.

Since joining Emory in 2011 as the chief of vascular and endovascular surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital with a secondary appointment in the division of cardiology, Dr. Rajani has been heavily involved in the development of cardiovascular services at the facility. His primary clinical focus has been on endovascular techniques to facilitate limb salvage in diabetic patients.

Dr. Rajani is also an associate program director for the general surgery residency and helps oversee surgical education at Grady. The vascular surgery service currently trains residents from both Emory University and the Morehouse schools of medicine, and includes trainees from vascular surgery, general surgery, cardiology, and trauma surgery.

In 2021, he was appointed assistant dean for education for Emory at Grady, and serves as the primary liaison between the Emory School of Medicine and Grady Memorial Hospital in the areas of Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Allied Health, and Graduate Medical Education (GME).

Dr. Rajani has served as the principal investigator for several clinical trials evaluating endovascular management for types of vascular trauma and is particularly interested in refining thoracic stent graft technology for treating blunt aortic injury.
