Dr. Williams received her MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 2009, and completed her general surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014. Her burn and surgical critical care fellowships were done at Grady Memorial Hospital from 2014-2016.

During her postgraduate training years she won three best oral presentation awards at annual meetings of the Southern Regional Burn Conference. A highlight of Dr. Williams' 2015-2016 surgical critical care fellowship was her initiation of a clinical trial investigating non-invasive cardiac output monitoring in burn patients.

She has joined the faculty of the Department of Surgery as a burn surgeon and critical care intensivist based at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Williams has published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons and the Journal of Burn Care and Research, and is a reviewer and guest editor for the Journal of Global Infectious Diseases.
